Downtown Master PlanCambridge, Nebraska. This plan envisioned Patterson Street, in downtown Cambridge, as a visual icon that captures and communicates a symbolic image and unique destination brand identity of the community to its citizens, local business interests, entrepreneurs and future investors in downtown development, as well as to visitors and tourists from anywhere in the world. The Downtown Master Plan involved over six months of community interaction, research, design, and synthesis. In order to define the sense of place, a Downtown Task Force was created. The community interaction process was occurring simultaneously with an extensive physical analysis of Cambridge and a review of existing documentation. Information was presented to the Downtown Task Force for review and comment at two separate meetings. A three-dimensional model of the entire downtown area was also created in order to provide a visual presentation of the vision for the future of downtown Cambridge. |
